About Unity Health Center
Volunteers
Share your time…make a difference

Taking the Time.
The volunteers at Unity Health Center share more than just a friendly smile and a helpful hand, they share their most priceless gift, their time. For just a few hours a week, volunteers offer a part of themselves to serve the hospital and the community. These men and women are dedicated to meeting the needs of patients and their families, helping the hospital provide the most efficient and exceptional care possible and funding the purchase of equipment and other items that provide quality care.

If you are willing to donate some of your time to make Unity a more comfortable place for patients and families, the volunteer auxiliary provides a wide variety of service opportunities to fit your talents and gifts as well as your schedule.

How to Share.
Anyone can volunteer at Unity Health Center. No matter what age. The auxiliary wants to help you find the volunteer opportunity that you are looking for. As a volunteer you can choose the area of service that best fits you as well as commit any amount of time to serve. The volunteer opportunities are tailored to meet the growing and changing needs of the hospital while highlighting the talents and abilities of each volunteer.

Volunteer services include tasks ranging from interacting with patients and their families, to simple clerical work. Some current volunteer services include:
• Greeting visitors at the information desk
• Clerical assistance in hospital departments
• Mail and flower delivery to patients
• Rocking baibes in the nursery
• Feeding or sitting with the patients
• Reading to or writing correspondence for patients
• Escort visitors throughout the hospital
• A wide variety of other opportunities

Make a Difference.
When you take the time to share a part of yourself, you truly make a difference in other people’s lives. Though volunteers receive no monetary compensation for their work with the hospital, there is no way to measure the feeling that comes from knowing you have touched a life and made a difference.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Unity Health Center, or want to learn more about the service opportunities available, please contact:
