Charles E. "Chuck" Skillings

Unity Health Center

Mr. Skillings has a broad background in healthcare management. He began his career at Shawnee Medical Center Hospital in 1978. Before his appointment to CEO at Shawnee Regional Hospital in January of 2000, he served as Director of the Emergency Medical Services, and later joined the administration of the hospital and worked in the area of physician recruitment. Seven years prior to becoming CEO, he was appointed executive vice president of the Hospital. Skillings is a graduate of Oklahoma City University and a member of the Board of Directors of the Shawnee Economic Development Foundation and St. Gregory’s University. In addition, he is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Oklahoma Hospital Association, Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, and Shawnee Rotary Club.

Mr. Cox’s area of expertise is in hospital administration. He graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1969 and received his Masters of Health Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, MO four years later. He has served as CEO of Mission Hill Memorial Hospital from 1999 to 2002. With more than 30 years of experience in the hospital setting, Mr. Cox’s areas of responsibility have included overseeing operations, medical staff relations and communications, maintaining Board of Trustee relationships and developing alternate delivery systems. He is a member of the University of Minnesota and Washington University Alumni Associations, American College of Healthcare Executives, and serves on numerous local health committees.

Vicky Fine

Ms. Fine is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Oklahoma. Ms. Fine came to Shawnee Regional Hospital in September 1992 as the Chief Financial Officer. Her responsibilities as Unity’s VP of Finance, includes overall financials, budget, inventory, purchasing, patient accounts, health information management, payroll and related benefits and Corporate Compliance, as well as serving as a member of the Senior Executive Team. From 1980-1992, Fine was employed in public accounting, performing general accounting, auditing, taxation work including employment, sales, income, estate, and IRS appeals, and special projects and research for issues related to taxation, pension funds, and employment laws. She is a member of the Oklahoma Society of CPA’s and the American Institute of CPA’s. Fine is also a past president of the Pottawatomie Chapter of CPA’s.


Linda E. Brown

Vice President of Clinical & Support Services

Ms. Brown has been in the healthcare profession for 26 years. After earning her BS in Nursing from Oklahoma Baptist University, she began working at Shawnee Medical Center Hospital. She received her MS from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Brown has had many opportunities to develop new programs and services for the hospital including now serving on the Senior Executive Team. Highly active in the community, she has served as a board member for the United Way of Pottawatomie County, the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce and Shawnee Lion’s Club. Brown currently is serving on the OBU Alumni Board of Directors.

Starla Griffith

Ms. Griffith has been in the healthcare profession for 18 years working in ER, ICU, and PCCU/Angioplasty Recovery Unit. Her professional experience spans from clinical and management positions to the field of education. Griffith earned a BS from East Central University and received her MS from Southern Nazarene University. Griffith served 2 years as Emergency Department Director, and 11 years as the Director of Nursing for Mission Hill Memorial Hospital. Her responsibilities in this position included planning, directing and evaluating nursing service activities, managing anesthesia, pharmacy, and serving as clinical administrator for the Multi-Specialty Clinic. Griffith has also served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at Gordon Cooper Technology Center since 1989. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Organization of Nurse Executives, the Pottawatomie County Volunteer Health Center and REACT Emergency Medical Services.
